| 學英文首先要學會問問題，在英語裡問問題的方式總離不開5個 W和1個H，5個W是指Who（誰）、Where（哪裡）、When（何時）、What（什麼）和Which（哪個），1個H指How（怎樣、如何）。如 果要問蘋果的英文怎樣拼，可以說：How do you spell apple?（怎樣拼蘋果的英文字呢？），又或想問怎樣去機場，可以用：How do I get to the airport?（我怎樣去機場呢？）。 向別人問路，也可以說: Can you give me directions to the airport?（可指示我去機場的方向嗎？），假如你在趕時間，需要最快的路程，就可以問"What´s the fastest way to the airport?"（最快到機場的路線是甚麼？），如果你不介意路程遠一點，想沿途欣賞風景，你可以問："What´s the scenic way to the airport?"（到機場最風光明媚的路是那一條？）。 |
| 對話 A:Hey, how do I get to the airport? 甲：嗨，請問我怎樣去機場？ B:If you wait at that bus stop, you can catch the airbus. 乙：假如你在此車站等，就可以乘機場巴士。 A:How long does it take? 甲：路程需時多久？ B:About ninety minutes, I think. If you´re in a hurry, I think you should take a cab. 乙：我想大約90分鐘。如果你趕時間，我建議你乘計程車。 A:Alright, thank you! 甲：好的，謝謝！ |

| 問路 向人問路，有時不妨先說句「開場白」：Excuse me. Can you help me? I´m lost/I´ve lost my way/I can´t find my way（對不起，請幫幫忙好嗎？我迷路了）。然後你可以講出自己要找的地方。 問街道、建築物、名勝等在哪裡，有多個常用說法： (1) How do I get to Water Street, please? (2) Could you direct me to Water Street? (3) Can you tell me where Water Street is? (4) Could you tell me the way to Water Street? (5) Would you be kind/good enough to tell me the way to Water Street? (6) Which way is Water Street? 這都是「請問去水街怎麼走」的意思。Be kind/good enough一詞，語氣頗為拘謹，有「惠然做某事」的含義。 問去某地最快或最短的路線，則可以說：What is the quickest/shortest way to....? 假如你不是完全不認得路，只是不肯定自己走的路對不對，那就可以問： (1) Am I right for the airport? (2) Am I on the right road to the airport? (3) Is this the road to the airport? (4) Am I headed toward the airport?（這是去機場的路嗎？） 人家給你指點方向之後，假如還不清楚，有一句話很有用：I´m sorry, do you mind repeating that?（對不起，可以再說一遍嗎？）假如你拿著地圖，也可以打開來指著問：You mean we´re here and the post office is there?（你是說我們在這兒，而郵局則在那兒？） |
