| 經玩過這樣的心理測驗，問題是：如果同時有人按門鈴、電話響 起來、小孩子哭、突然下雨要趕著收衣服，當這四件事情同時發生，你會先做那樣呢？答案是：選擇先聽電話代表你是個事業心重的人，先抱小孩代表你是個愛家的 人，先收衣服表示你是個物質慾望很強的人。我會選擇先應門，因為開門之後就可請客人幫我做其他事情。今課教大家一句：Would you please answer the door for me?（你可以幫我開門嗎？），除此之外，多教幾句請求幫助的說話：Would you please get the phone for me? （可以幫我聽電話嗎？）Would you please nurse the baby for me? （可以幫我照顧小孩嗎？）Would you please go and get the washing for me? （可以幫我去收衣服嗎？） |
| Ａ：Adrain, where are you? 甲：愛祖倫，你在哪兒？ Ｂ：I´m in the bathroom, what´s up? 乙：我在洗手間，什麼事？ Ａ：I´m on the phone. Would you please answer the door for me? 甲：我在講電話，可否幫我應門？ Ｂ：I wish I could, but I´m covered in suds right now. 乙：我也想幫你，但我現在滿身都是肥皂泡。 |

| 肥皂水 和朋友講電話的時候，聽見門鈴響起來，其實只須說Just a minute, I´ve to answer the door（請等一下，我要應門）或Please hang on a moment / second（請等一下）就行，何必喊人家代勞，何況人家正在沐浴。 沐浴時滿身肥皂沬，可以說I´m covered in suds。廣告裡當眾沐浴的美女，總是用肥皂泡遮掩身體，教你什麼都看不到。你可以說:The bathing beauties always cover themselves in suds so that there is nothing to see。留意suds一字必須用複數形式。I rinsed the suds from my body in the shower即「我在淋浴的蓮蓬頭下，洗去身上的肥皂泡」。 沐浴時聽見門鈴聲甚至火警鐘聲，最是使人狼狽。也不知是不是有見及此，英文俚語in the suds就是「處於困難景況」的意思，例如：Unemployed and without any savings, he is in the suds（他失了業，又沒有儲蓄，處境十分困難）。 啤酒的泡沫，看起來像肥皂泡，所以俚語會以suds說啤酒。Can I have a glass of suds?即「給我一杯啤酒好嗎？」而肥皂劇(soap opera)俚語也做sudser，例如：She enjoys watching American sudsers(她喜歡看美國的肥皂劇）。 I´m covered in suds right now的right now是指「此刻」，當然也可指「立刻」或「馬上」，例如: We´ll start right now(我們馬上開始) 。 |
