| 如果你有朋友總愛發白日夢，愛幻想的話，怎樣叫他返回現實 呢？教大家一句很好用又不會得罪別人的英文：Don´t be silly.（不要傻）。Silly和 Stupid中文解作「愚蠢」、「呆傻」的意思，但Don´t be silly的silly是帶點「傻乎乎」的意思，感覺上沒有Stupid那麼嚴重，所以也不會容易令人生氣。除了Don´t be silly外，也可以用：Be realistic（實際一點吧）或Come back down to earth（回到現實吧）。 |
| Ａ：What are you planning to do after school? 甲：你畢業後打算做什麼？ Ｂ：I´ll work for three years and save some money to go on a world tour with Susan. 乙：我會工作三年，儲些錢，然後跟蘇珊環遊世界。 Ａ：Don´t be silly, man. 甲：別要傻吧！ Ｂ：I know I may not get paid well in the beginning, but I´m confident I can manage it. 乙：我知道開始時薪水不會太理想，但我有信心我做得到。 Ａ：No, I mean you won´t be with Susan for three years. 甲：不，我意思是你不會和蘇珊在一起三年。 |

| 別癡人說夢了 某乙說三年之後要和女友蘇珊環遊世界，某甲認為這是癡人說夢，原因不在金錢，而在於某乙不可能和蘇珊相戀三年。英文可以這樣說：You won´t be able to go steady with Susan for three years。Go steady是指「維持固定的情侶關係」。 某甲要叫某乙別做白日夢，可以這樣說：Snap out of it!這是口語，有「迅速擺脫某種情緒」或「及時振作」的意思，例如：He was lovesick for three months, but then snapped out of it when he got a new girlfriend（他害了三個月相思病，但一認識了新女朋友，相思病就霍然而愈）。 某甲還可以叫某乙：Come down/back to earth。這直譯是「回到塵世來」，意思當然是「現實一點」，例如：If you want to earn a living, John, you must come down to earth and take up a humble job（約翰，你要謀生，就必須現實一點，接受一分卑微的工作）。 覺得人家不切實際，還可以說：What planet are you on?（你是在哪個星球上？）或What planet are you from?（你是從哪個星球來的？）這和come down to earth一樣，等於說人家似乎不是在地球上生活，完全不了解世情。 而要質疑人家的計劃，除了Don´t be silly（別傻了）、Are you serious?/Are you kidding?（你在開玩笑嗎？）等，語氣較重的說法還有：Are you crazy? / Are you out of your mind? / Are you out of your head?（你瘋了嗎？）。 |
